Film, Animation & Creative Director in Abu Dhabi
Ahmed Khattab directs film, animation and creative work for clients in Abu Dhabi, working from his base in nearby Dubai. He takes on the full arc of a project, from creative direction through to a finished film or animated piece.
Suited to the capital's cultural weight
Abu Dhabi sets the tone for cultural and government storytelling in the UAE, and Ahmed's combination of roles fits that closely. As Creative Director at MassHouse Studio, he can shape a project's vision before a single frame exists, then direct it himself as either a live-action film or an animated one, keeping one authored voice across the whole production.
Being based a short distance away in Dubai means Abu Dhabi projects still get a director who can be on site quickly, backed by the production resources of a major regional hub.
Work that suits museums and institutions
His Islamic Anthology Series, a ten-episode 3D anthology for the Saudi Heritage Commission where he was Creative Director and Series Director, is the clearest evidence of directing heritage content at scale, exactly the kind of brief Abu Dhabi's museums and cultural institutions commission. Regional Museums, which blends live action with hand-drawn animation for Our Saudi Story, shows the same instinct applied to introducing a physical space to an audience.
For a lighter, more personal register, his handcrafted 2D short Children of Barzagh shows the same authorial control at a smaller scale, distributed by Watermelon Pictures. Reach him at hello@ahmed-khattab.com or +971 58 900 2332 to discuss an Abu Dhabi project.
