Film, Animation & Creative Director in Jeddah
Jeddah is where Ahmed's work has been recognised on the biggest stage in the region, the Red Sea International Film Festival, and where his research-led approach to Saudi heritage carries furthest into the western Kingdom.
Recognised at the Red Sea International Film Festival
His handcrafted 2D short Children of Barzagh, which he wrote and directed, earned a win at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, one of 16 festival laurels in his record overall, alongside the Oscar-qualifying Alexandria International Film Festival, the Central Illinois Film Festival and Best Director at the Maverick Movie Awards in Los Angeles.
That recognition sits alongside his institutional work. As Creative Director and Series Director on the Islamic Anthology Series for the Saudi Heritage Commission, he built a ten-episode 3D anthology around real historic sites, the same research-first method that suits heritage and cultural projects across the region.
Available across the western Kingdom
From Jeddah he is available for film, animation and creative direction work across the western region, including cultural and heritage projects connected to Mecca and Medina. He does not claim past productions in either city, what he offers is the same research-led, respectful method proven on the Heritage Commission's anthology series.
He also directed Regional Museums for Our Saudi Story, blending live action with hand-drawn animation. Reach him at hello@ahmed-khattab.com or +971 58 900 2332 to discuss a project.
