A national commission, directed and designed
For the Saudi Heritage Commission, Ahmed held both the Creative Director and Series Director roles on the Islamic Anthology Series, a ten-episode 3D animated anthology. Each chapter is built around a real historic Saudi site and grounded in extensive historical research, made to serve as a narrative foundation for future cultural and tourism destinations, exactly the kind of long-term, high-stakes commission that Riyadh's cultural institutions are now producing at scale.
Setting the creative direction and then directing all ten episodes himself is what kept the series consistent, a single visual world and narrative voice held across the whole run rather than handed between different teams.
Across the Kingdom
His Saudi work extends beyond the anthology. He directed Regional Museums for Our Saudi Story, a nonfiction, documentary-style film blending live action with hand-drawn animation to introduce real places to a real audience, and has contributed to projects connected to the Royal Commission for AlUla, the Ministry of Culture and Aramco. That range means a Riyadh institution can bring him in for animation, live action, documentary film production or the creative framework that sits above all three, and as producer as well as director where the brief calls for it.
